This is a two session program, due to the drying time required working with modeling paste.
It needs to dry significantly in order to work with the wet on wet or wash paint application.

applying modeling paste

In the first 1.5 to 2 hour session we plan our composition, examine examples to become familiar with the techniques effects, then apply the modeling paste in multiple layers to achieve dimensional depth.
Then, overnight or for several days, give the piece time to thoroughly dry and harden, so we can apply numerous applications of paint and water to create washes etc. as to not have the modeling paste get soft or reconstituted while painting.
